African American Student Development creates programs and activities that facilitate the retention and graduation of African American students, encourages their matriculation to graduate and professional school, and enhances their undergraduate experiences.

BLACK WELCOME MONTH

Saturday August 30, 2008 to Tuesday September 30, 2008

College life can be difficult to adjust to, especially for black students at Berkeley. The AASD community including student groups, campus programs and departments welcomes students with a host of events at the beginning of the fall semester. These events range from welcome mixers, BBQs, student group fashion shows, resource fairs to the student group day/step show. Check back in June 2008 for a list of activities for August - September 2008.

AASD STUDENT GROUP DAY - YARD SHOW

Friday September 05, 2008 - 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Student group day is the opportunity for incoming and returning students to meet members from the various student groups on campus. Located on Lower Sproul Plaza, the afternoon is filled with positive community spirit, games, activities, and step performances by black fraternities and sororities.
